Meh, they are ok. They do have impact protection. But sitting for more then 10 minutes KILLS your back. Sssoooo don't wear em up or down from the mt. And for the most part you'll be fine.

Wish I had them for my first day of lessons.
Buy the shorts, save your tailbone the abuse.
