Insulated – Pants to keep you warm on those coldest of days. Usually insulated with multiple layers or synthetic insulation. Shells - Waterproof pants that usually block water and wind. Don’t provide insulation for those colder days, but do often have vents to keep you cool. Generally worn on warmer, Spring days when you’re hiking the park.
